It has been a busy week here at Tony Martin Dairy. We have been very busy with the farming.
Along with the physical work you have the stress of a bountiful crop and quality feed for our cows. My husband along with most farmers carry so very much on those broad shoulders. We are so blessed to have them!
We have also been busy with shades and checking the “soakers” to make sure that every thing for our cows comfort is working top-notch.
I have also been working very hard getting the final stages of my cheese room in order so that I can receive my final approval from the state. My inspector is very helpful and stops by more regularly. He stopped by yesterday to give me my study booklet for my Pasteurizing License.
I have to admit that I am very excited about my new venture but I also often wake in the middle of the night and ask “What the hell are you doing?”
My mind runs with all of the things I need to do as well as the things I want to do.
My veterinarian Alvaro gave me some great advice yesterday. He said (in his lovely Brazilian accent)
“Keep building castles in your mind, just don’t be too quick to move into them”!
Wise words…Thanks Alvaro!
I hope to visit with Chica at the end of the week. She still has not been able to re-breed as of yet. I did speak to Dr. Alvaro regarding some options. I will be keeping you posted on that.
Have a very happy 4th of July holiday and take a moment of gratitude for our freedom and the great country that we live in. Please pray for our leaders, that they use good, moral, common sense to continue what this country had been founded on!
God Bless You All!
